Check Out These Tasty Boneless Pork Bones

Reader RandomHookup was in the mood for an existential crisis, so he headed over to the meat section at Shaw’s. There he found a package of pork pieces that were labeled as boneless pork bones. Wait, what?

porkbones

Those are delicious boneless pork pieces, labeled as “pork bones” on the outside, but with a “boneless” sticker. R.H. took the extra step that many of our readers don’t and asked someone about this strange labeling. He got an explanation, but not one that makes sense.

“I asked the butcher and she said they have to do that because they don’t have the correct PLU in their system,” he writes, “so they have to do this pretty stupid workaround.”
