Syria has today allowed the UN inspection team to visit the site,from tomorrow ( Monday), where a chemical weapons attack took place last week raising the stakes in this hugely dangerous conflict in the Middle East.
A lot of the evidence is reported to have already been destroyed, but with tensions rising and with Russia still stoutly defending its only* staunch Arab ally the escalation is threatening to spill into open conflict with outside intervention.
Or will it in fact force a peace deal on the basis that the worst case scenario* is just too disasterous* to contemplate?
